Loredana Sperini

Sperini refuses to be trapped by traditional media, exhibiting several works made with wax, embroidery, and even a piece which uses butterflies. Her works have layers of influence, including theology, folklore, literature, film, and musical references that altogether trigger memories and recollection in our subconscious and take us into a darker world. The powerful energy of the images in Sperini’s work contrasts with the slow and disciplined craft of her technique, creating a tense balance.
