Eliza Geddes

Eliza Geddes sculpture work examines her interests in surface and texture, focusing on the deconstruction of the conventional use and form of the canvas.   Her assemblages examine the breakdown between painting and sculpture by combining painterly methods with sculptural uses of space.     Often incorporating non fine art materials such as t-shirts, rubber bands and other day objects along with conventional ones.    In Geddes' work there is no reverential treatment of the canvas, it is ripped up, sculpted and treated with various wood stains and other substances.
Residing in New York this will be Geddes first show in London.
